Cardboard

Cardboard is easy to recycle in most municipalities in BC. Many curbside recycling programs accept cardboard as a paper product, and once it is processed it can be used to make new products such as gypsum wallboard liner, roofing felt, core board and new boxes. Cardboard is an easy and environmentally efficient material to recycle, and the use of recycled cardboard conserves large amounts of water and energy when manufacturing new products, compared to using virgin fibre. To prevent contamination and preserve the quality of the material, keep your cardboard dry and free from food contaminants or residue when putting it out for collection.

Cardboard is accepted in curbside, multi-family, and depot collection in the Recycle BC residential packaging and printed paper recycling program. For a list of drop off depots, please see below, or search under "Paper Packaging" in the Paper category. For more information on Recycle BC's program, please visit www.recyclebc.ca.

For information on curbside collection, please contact the RCBC Recycling Hotline at 604-732-9253 or 1-800-667-4321.
