Where can I take my aerosol paint cans for recycling?

Warning message

Some recycling and solid waste facilities are temporarily closed, operating with reduced hours, or accepting a limited range of materials – please call ahead. Consider delaying your visit to facilities unless absolutely necessary by storing dry recyclables and other items at home temporarily.

Aerosol paint is included in a provincial recycling program, managed by Product Care Recycling. This program does include all residential, industrial or automotive aerosol paint cans, provided that they still have their original labeling. The maximum container size accepted in this program is 24 ounces, or 660 grams. Aerosol paint cans covered by this program can be dropped off free of charge at a number of recycling depots across the province.  Each paint depot will accept up to 50 cans per person, per day for recycling.

The cans will be accepted whether they are empty, or partially full. To find the depot nearest you, visit the Product Care website, or contact the RCBC Recycling Hotline.
