Are recyclable materials banned from the garbage?

Warning message

Some recycling and solid waste facilities are temporarily closed, operating with reduced hours, or accepting a limited range of materials – please call ahead. Consider delaying your visit to facilities unless absolutely necessary by storing dry recyclables and other items at home temporarily.

Many communities in BC have implemented material bans to encourage recycling. Banned materials usually include cardboard and paper, items covered under BC recycling programs, and others. Please call the RCBC Hotline for information on material bans in your area.
