Where can I take old paint for recycling?

ReGeneration operates over 170 depots throughout BC that accept leftover household paint for recycling.  Each depots accept 10 cans of paint per person, per day, provided that the paint is residential grade, in its original container with the original labeling, and is not leaking.  Paint containers up to 25 litres are accepted.  This program also includes residential grade varnishes, wood preservatives, non-tar based sealers, and many more.  For a complete list of accepted products, visit the ReGeneration website.  For paint that does not meet the above requirements, call the RCBC Recycling Hotline for disposal options.

This Provincial recycling program is funded through eco fees that are paid on these products at the point of purchase.  The fees pay for the transportation, storage, and processing of these products and ensure that the paint is free to drop off for recycling.  For more information on these fees, or to find a drop off depot near you, call the RCBC Recycling Hotline or visit the Recyclepedia.
